It's easy to follow the herd, but for some, that doesn't satisfy. That's why we've "opted out" of a traditional life in the United States.

We are Emily and Clark. For years, we have been living small, intentional lives (Emily in tiny houses and Clark aboard his sailboat). In 2015, we got together and decided to make an intentional life together as a couple, mainly aboard our antique sailing vessel, S/V Temptress. YouTube is the main channel through which we share our adventures.

The Two of Us
Born in the 60s, Clark is an engineer who retired in his 30s to live a different life, has been out cruising for much of the last 20 years. He designs and builds systems to make life aboard easier and, as captain of S/V Temptress, is ultimately responsible to get the boat safely to each destination. So far, he's sailed over 20,000 ocean miles and visited 14% of the world's countries.

A Millennial, Emily spent years living in and designing tiny houses before she took up the sailing life. She owns her own remote consulting company, and aboard Temptress, she manages food inventory, serves as VHF radio Net controller for the Bahamas' George Town cruising community, and enjoys playing music, organizing events and exploring new destinations.

Our Boat
There are many YouTubers out there making sailing videos, but none have a boat like ours. Our "plastic classic" is a 1967 Creekmore 45. Only eight exist in the world, and as they say, "they don't make 'em like they used to!" She has pros and cons as an old boat, but for us, she's the right size for 2-3 people, sails fast and offers the right amount of comfort and capacity for the 24/7 cruising lifestyle. Purchased for $55k, Temptress and boats like her also put the sailing life well within reach of anyone.

Our Videos
We hope to produce videos about how we live and what decisions we have made along the way that have enabled us to live this kind of life. Topics include:
  • our simple living philosophy
  • how we save money and live lightly on the planet
  • how we build, repair and maintain boat systems (a lot of ours are homemade)
  • our day-to-day cruising lifestyle
  • travel logs and destinations
  • music and other fun stuff
We hope sharing our story will help inspire others to live their own version of an ideal life.

Thanks for joining us in our adventures, and supporting our videos along the way!

Support the two of us as we shoot, edit and share videos. Some days this means caffiene, and other days it's a beer to celebrate a new milestone we've met. We will put your name on one of our videos as a thank-you.

We really appreciate the support.  We will send you a thank you postcard from someplace warm (of course, with mail outside the US this might take a bit to get to you).  You'll also receive our public thanks at the end of a video.
Wind Barrons
$25 or more per month 0 patrons
We have been getting questions about the wind generator.   With your supporting us at this level you will get access to excel spread sheets that make building a wind generator much easier, along with our public thanks at the end of a video.

Want advice?  Join at this tier and we will give you a call or email letter each month when we have service available.  We can offer technical advice on topics like building a wind generator or boat systems.  We can coach you if you want help with how to start living the cruising lifestyle, need local knowledge about cruising destinations, or want a virtual ukulele lesson from Emily. You will also get the occasional international postcard from two of your favorite YouTubers, along with our public thanks at the end of a video.
