PC Building Time!!
Live streaming on Twitch is something I've been dying to venture into for a long time now, but in order to do so I need to start thinking about building a designated desktop setup for those needs. If I reach my goal of $500 I will begin piecing together the PC parts I need to make the right setup for my needs. The sooner I reach this goal, the sooner I can dedicate more time to my channel and the more content you'll be seeing by me!
Audio Equipment Upgrade
Over the past while I've made some big upgrades in my setup as a way to
offer high quality content (thank goodness for fancy cams and
lighting!), but I'm still lacking in one department: audio. While I've
never had any terrible experiences with audio (yet!), I would prefer to
optimize my setup as much as possible so I can avoid any potential
hiccups along the way.
That's where the RODE VideoMic comes into play, an external mic attachment I've been dreaming about for what feels like years. Unfortunately, it's something I can't feasibly buy (not when I have other expenses like new business cards, art commissions, zine printing costs, graphic design/marketing night classes etc. to worry about).
If I meet my $650 goal I will happily go out and buy myself one of these babes, blog about it, vlog about it, thank you all for it etc. I want to offer as much as I can for all of you, and here's just another way for me to continue improving on the work I do.

Convention Time!
The other day I was thinking about how badly I'd love to check out more gaming and anime conventions and ensure I can make it to as many as possible in the coming years. Of course, while I may be able to get media accreditation or guest status at these cons, there's also the issue of transportation and hotel costs (if that's not provided for me). These costs really add up and, frankly, slow me down from attending all the cons I wish to both away and in Toronto (ConBravo!, Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo, FanExpo, AnimeNorth, Vancouver Fan Expo etc.).
While I'm currently dealing with immigration issues that stop me from attending cons in the U.S., there are still plenty I'd like to travel to elsewhere as a way to explore more of the community we're all a part of and meet friends and fans. If finances weren't an issue I'd be traveling all the time, but that's not really an option for me (yet!). The more my channel grows the more I want to reach out and this is just another step towards that.
While this goal doesn't completely affect my attendance at certain cons, it would help to have that financial leverage to make those possibilities more of a reality.

Who are you?
Hi there, everyone! My name is Erika Szabo, I am a Toronto-based gaming and anime blogger and vlogger. For the past 5 years I've been working as a video game blogger covering current-gen and retro games. Less than a year ago, I took another big step in the scene and started my very own Youtube channel so I could further express my love. Youtube has taken me places I never would have imagined, and has quickly become my hub for all the things I know and love!
The ability to express that raw energy is one thing I adore about vlogging and something I can't quite grasp in written form. I love the power writing gives you and I'm constantly inspired to improve, but videos are just plain fun. They've given me the opportunity to meet like-minded Youtubers, inspire discussion and help build the growing community one person at a time.
My goal is to continue blogging and vlogging on a full-time basis and continue to meet and unite other like-minded enthusiasts!

What does Patreon have to do with with it?
As silly as it might sound, it's been a dream for me to take those passions and turn them into a career, not only for myself but for all the amazing people who have helped me along the way. That's where Patreon comes into play, and boy am I happy to see an outlet like it! I am floored by all the help its offered other brilliant creatives, I feel it's just what we need in a world full of community-oriented people wanting to give back to their fans. It's also a way to make your dreams more feasible, and in a world driven by information, anything is possible!
What are the benefits?
This is where you come into play, but let me first make one thing clear: I'm not going to start charging for content nor will I stop making content if I don't get support here. Think of Patreon as a way of helping me make bigger and better things. My channel has grown rapidly over the past few months, but I want to strengthen this business, improve my video quality and quantity, and offer a way to give back to all of you - whether that be through weekly shoutouts, video sneak peeks, review requests or monthly draws! By donating, you pledge that specified amount per month. Don't worry, this subscription can be edited or cancelled at any time. Life happens, after all!
If things go really well, like really well, I want to share the love in a way I rarely, if ever, get the chance to. I want to donate to other creatives on Patreon, I want to give to charity, I want to continue doing what I love while giving other people the help they so deserve.
Even if this is something you can't feasibly do, no worries, just keep enjoying my content and get in on the discussion! Thanks so much for your time and consideration!
