Hello, Regulars of the Cafe!

You probably know me as @erinscafe on Twitter. You can call me Scafe, but that's not my name. Nor do I own an actual cafe. If you're confused, you're in the right place.

About Me

If you've followed me on for a while on Twitter, you know I'm the girl with the stories. I found Matt Damon in Morocco. My neighbors were busted for meth and running a gas card scam. I boarded a plane using only a People magazine as ID. Weird things happen to me.

I've worked at a law firm, and as a human resources coordinator. I directed a documentary. I've written about sports and politics. I've worked on campaigns. I spent a day on the Universal back lot dressed as a furry. And I'm ready to add a few more things to this, uh, impressive resume.

As many of you know, it's been a rough year for me personally. I've been going through a divorce, and reflecting a lot on who I want to be and what I want to do. And I'm really excited about the plans I have. But I need some help to make them happen.

What I'm Doing

Because of your support, I was able to go to Texas and help out the Beto campaign full time. I cannot thank you enough for that opportunity! Since the election, I've been thinking a lot about voter suppression and the obstacles we faced every day. And the thinking has developed into planning. I'm still in the planning phase, but by mid-summer I'll be launching a site with organizing tools to help individuals and communities fight voter suppression on Election Day 2020. 

My goal is to devote my energy full-time to that effort; I just need to make sure I don't lose my home or health insurance in the process. Every dollar I get on Patreon frees me up to work on this project, and I promise that I am pouring my heart and soul into it. You'll get regular updates, and I can't wait to share my ideas and teaching tools with you. 

What You Get

I've hesitated to set up a Patreon because I haven't felt like I have enough creative content to offer, and I hate to ask for money without providing something of value that's a bit more immediate and frequent.  I narrowed down my ideas to either a book or a podcast, and then I thought...why not both?

So besides allowing me to work on taking back the White House in 2020, your patronage will also provide you access to:

• THE BOOK: I've had a lot of requests for a collection of my past Twitter stories. So, I'll be going back through the archives and putting them together for a self-published book!  At the $5 a month level, you'll have access to these stories as I pull them together. I expect to do at least two a month, and may include other writings.
• THE PODCAST: I'm hoping the first episode will be ready to go June 1. The plan is to take a deeper dive into some of the rabbit holes I've gone down on Twitter. You're going to find out more than you ever wanted to know about the My Pillow guy. Get excited.
