We are a start up indie game development team consisting of passionate artists, developers and game geeks led by @nospoonnocake currently working on our first project:

Ethernalis - multi-user dungeon crawler supported with roguelike procedurally generated content.

The game describes a dark fantasy world via original cards placed on the game board.  Engine, as it exists in it's current form can already support most of what you would normally expect from a roguelike or an RPG game.

About the Game

roguelike, turn based card game for mobiles and tablets with MUDlike event system is probably the best description of what the engine offers in current shape. Every week the game becomes more and more playable and we have mostly addressed all critical areas of the gameplay.

The moment the client connects - the game engine generates 3 available characters that a Player can choose to control. Each character is different and comes with a range of specific attributes that make the game play different each time. Once the character is chosen - the player is presented with a choice of quest. From then on it will fight for survival in an unforgiving dungeon where you will collect loot, gain experience and advance your hero reaching deeper and deeper into the dungeons depths.

In the game you can come across cards which will have their own interaction rules. This allows us to fill the world with NPCs and events that couldn't otherwise be simply shawn through card interface. Game engine supports capacity for Quests, Rewards, Standings and to provide content tailored to specific classes or characters.

The game already has a strong roguelike feel and your character is few die rolls away from death or glory.

Ethernalis is still in pre-alpha stage but we enjoy it already and are full of ideas for making it just the game we always wanted to play. Players can choose their character and discover the world of Ethernal torn by the immediate danger of the undead armies in the roguelike turn based, mobile card game. Collect equipment, cast spells and discover randomly generated dungeons to support Imperial campaigns or join the forces of Evil to unleash the death lurking in the mountain depths for millennia.

We have been working on the game for quite some time now and are now inviting our patreon supporters to join us and participate in the development of the Alpha release via the new Member Only Area of our website ethernalis.com .

Hi, I'm Jack. I am a super busy software developer with a dream for a software studio, that finally became reality some 4 months ago.

I have been commercially developing database driven web applications for a little over a decade now, designing software supporting retail operations, accounting, compliance, energy management and hardware solutions worldwide. It's been a blast and it's what I still do every day but my fine art background and a persuasive inner geek requires me to release my creativity elsewhere.

Ever since childhood I found fantasy and science fiction fascinating and by the age of 12 I was completely lost for the world in RPGs of all shapes and sizes and I would have started sketching out one of my own. Ethernal - the world described by the mobile game we're making, has naturally evolved over hundreds of session me and my friends and their friends thereafter have played out in tabletop rpg adventures. Over years we have described to each other the world of the game in such detail, that writing it down now is too much of a task for a mortal being. The solution was obvious. I have designed a game engine that would allow a back end control of all in game assets, which I could then populate with great help from my friends and family.

As a complete tech junkie, I am very keen to learn new things. I believe however that the best way to learn anything is by brutal practice. This has led me to start my first AngularJS project which later became the groundwork for the user interface of Ethernalis Mobile Game App.

Now, 4 months into the project I already have a working dungeon crawler, with an RPG event system that slightly reminds you of old MUD like text based games, spiced up with original artwork and lots of content. It all looks very promising and hence the appetite to push it to the next level. I'm ready to try.

I'm joining Patreon, hoping that additional funding will help me to realise ambitious plan of delivering a web based massively multiplayer roguelike rpg game engine and cross platform clients for Android & iOS. So far I have funded the project myself, but with your support I could push it way further.
