Who is Eule Fawkes?
I am a cosplayer, crafter, and designer living in Atlanta, GA. From a very young age I loved any excuse to dress up and pretend to be my favorite characters or act out whatever crazy fantasy I had dreamed up. Eventually I began channeling that into theater as a singer, actor, lighting and set designer, you name it. I later went on to study film at the Savannah College of Art and Design and got a graduate degree for Arts Administration and Business. I spent the next few years at a desk job trying to work my way into the arts field, but don’t worry, it was just a phase. I was in desperate need of a creative outlet…enter cosplay.

Eule, why cosplay?
Cosplay- the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game
I decided I needed a costume to attend my very first convention, Atlanta’s infamous DragonCon, in 2013. The second I stepped out onto the con floor I was hooked. I’ve had the cosplay bug ever since and I don’t see it letting go anytime soon. I always just thought I was weird for wanting to dress up and make costumes, but I was just waiting to find my cosplay family. Fast forward five amazing and fun filled years to 2018 and I decided to take my crazy passion full time.
I love what I do because it lets me be creative, experiment, and well…play. I’ve always been jack of all trades and never stuck to any one activity or hobby long, but cosplay is so vast it allows and challenges me to continuously explore every material at my disposal. One project I may be sewing, molding leather, creating foam armor, metal working, you name it, and some projects I combine all of the above.

So, what kind of work do you do?
That’s my favorite aspect of cosplay, you never know what kind of crazy things I’m up to. But usually you will find me creating characters from my favorite movies and video games. I’m typically sewing, doing leatherwork or making giant swords and armor out of craft foam, but I occasionally like to play around with chainmail, metalwork and resin casting. Every project is a new adventure and there is always something new to learn.
But I also like to enjoy the costumes I put so much hard work into by visiting local conventions and events, striking my best pose at photo shoots, and just having fun with fellow cosplayers.

That sounds awesome! How can I help?
That’s the beauty of Patreon, we can help each other! With your monthly donation I can continue to create better and better content and experiment, in the name of cosplay research. But I also love to share what I love and do, so I want to pass all the fun tips and tricks along to you guys as guides and tutorials and share all the fun I have playing dress up by doing photoshoots and maybe even coming to your local convention.
But I absolutely cannot do this without you, my lovely patrons.

One last question, what’s with all the owls?
Ah yes, well owls are my favorite animal, bordering on obsession really. My name, Eule, is even derived from the German word for owl (spelled the same but pronounced Yu-lee). What can I say, owls are kinda my signature thing.
