I write Everything Studies. Topics are as wide-ranging as the title suggests but I maintain a special focus on disagreement, its causes and its mechanisms, partly in the vain hope of helping to improve how it works.

I mostly make it up as I go along, but the long term ambition is to use ideas about the psychology of belief, reason and argumentation, the structure of stories and narratives, ambiguities of language and models, game theory, human nature and individual difference, coalitions and the rhetoric that build them, into a semi-coherent theory of disagreement.

For it I use a reading history that's all over the place, experience from a cross-disciplinary education and a job as a consultant turning facts and numbers into narratives and models, an attitude to words and language that makes me one of those people that likes awful puns, and probably 10000 hours of reading online arguments.
