Exiern was started in 2005 by Drowemos. When it started, and barbarian Typhan-Knee was transformed into the buxom "Tiffany" thanks to overpowered white magic, it primarily skewered the tropes of barbarian fiction in hilarious ways.
Since those early days the story evolved, and when Drowemos retired from his creation he passed it on to me, Scott T. Hicken, for management. Not ready to write it myself, reader Chemiclord stepped up. After a sweeping and dramatic storyline, Chemiclord stepped down and I took over as writer and editor on July 1st, 2014.
Unlike many other magical gender-swapped webcomic heroes, Exiern's "Tiffany" hasn't simply accepted his new form. Originally a gay man repressing his sexuality in a world that would not accept it, Typhan-Knee's transformation into "Tiffany" has in no way "solved his problem." Although Exiern remains a comic that tries to be fun and funny, Typhan-Knee's desire to undo the curse and regain his true gender remains a strong and respected part of the character.
Pledging to Exiern allows us to make this unique comic what it should be, and continue to tell the tale of Typhan-Knee's journey to regain his true identity. Thank you for your readership and support!
