A long time ago in a life far far away, I used to write. Articles, stories, films, game reviews & criticism. I even used to run podcasts.

The irony is that years down the track, after making my own video games for nearly a decade, after transitioning and learning MUCH more about life... I have been writing less. Far less. In fact just one article has gone up with my name on the by-line since I transitioned.

Now, approaching the end-point of the largest video game project I've ever made, it's time to go back to this.

So what do I want to do?

Firstly, I want to produce written content. Regularly. Once per week I will produce an article - or a story - on a subject that interests me. This might be anything from gender to military history to media criticism. Partly what I cover will be dictated by what is taking my interest that week, but it will also be dictated by votes or feedback from my patrons.

And secondly, I want to podcast again.

So once every few weeks, I will release a podcast, deep-diving into a film (or perhaps video game) with an appropriate guest.

Patrons will get this content earlier, and after a while it will go up on the public web site.

I've decided to make tiers flat, for now. Whether you give me a buck, or a bit more, you'll still get all the content, and still be able to help me pick what subjects to focus on in future articles or podcasts.

So that's the plan, and while, as I say, it may shift a bit over time, more than anything else, you'll be helping me survive doing what I like doing best - creating things.
Tiers
Party-Size Chocolate
$1 or more per month 1 patron

Okay, so you can't buy them individually, but if you could that'd be about right, yeah? Every little bit helps, and there's nothing better than a little chocolate to go with your morning coffee, anyway.

Well, apart from the experience of seeing an Orca in the flesh. That's probably better, but hey, chocolate is good too!

Coffee
$3 or more per month 1 patron

You're covering that most vital substance, caffeine, so I can wake up enough in the morning to make words fall out of my brain in a coherent - and hopefully entertaining - manner.

Wine
$5 or more per month 5 patrons

I mean, it'd be a happy hour wine and not a particularly expensive one, but these days that tends to be how I operate anyway. Hormones are expensive, y'all.

Whisky
$10 or more per month 2 patrons

It's hard not to love a good single malt. Or even a bad blended one, if it happens to help get you through a particularly awful film you accidentally committed to watching.

Goals
$45 of $100 per month
Honestly, this would cover the hours it'll take me to do the writing and potentially the podcasting. So that'd be great.
