About

Welcome to ExpressoSloth Studio's Patreon!
Summary:
What I Make: Resources for artists and writers, plus freelance illustration and stories
Who I am: A SCAD grad and freelance editor with an aptitude for communication
Why You Should Help Me: Supporting me gives me the resources to make more of the things you like, special access to extras and bonus content, plus the space to make new things you haven't fallen in love with yet!

What I Make: I make a lot of different things, like:
CMYKS: Ask-an-artist podcast/video series. Have questions about art, or trying to make a living off of it? If I don't know the answer, I'll find it for you!
GNOVELLA: Comic and written word analyses, reviews, and resources. I have always been a studious reader, and excel at interpreting and translating stories. If there's one thing I love more than finding out why good stories work so well, it's improving stories that could use a little refinement!
EXPRESSOSLOTH: Illustration commissions, streams, speedpaints, and walkthroughs.
I also have other side projects: I love to teach and tutor, so I often make video courses. I donate my skills and free time to amateur and charity magazine projects. I do freelance illustration, both for personal and business commissions. I also offer my services as an editorial consultant for comics and fiction. If you are interested in more information, please contact me via [email protected]

Who I am:
I'm Jackie Stickney, I live in Florida, USA.
It's hard to say when I started creating, because my mother is an artist, and I was always given freedom to create and learn. My father also gave me a great love for books and learning, so I've always been on this path of study and self-improvement. I studied for four years at the Savannah College of Art and Design, earning a BFA in 2016. I studied Sequential Art (Comics!) and a bit of Illustration. Even though I am fully capable of creating comic and drawings, it's the editing side, the direction and management aspects that really call to me.
But why? Well, I have superpowers! Specifically, an innate empathy for fiction and uncanny reading comprehension. Because of my training as a writer and illustrator, I'm fluent in how to strengthen and improve drawn and written stories. I call it a superpower, because it was something that was given in a series of events in my life (which one day will make a great comic), and something I worked to hone and master.

Why you should care:
Any support given to this Patreon will help me make more content. Most of my creative energy goes towards trying to survive, whether it's for a roof over my head or allaying student loans. The less reliant I am on side projects, the more time I can devote to the interesting and fun stuff!
Sometimes this will mean more consistency in the kind of content that does well, like CMYKS and resources, where what you get out of it is clear every time.
I also make extras for each project, from sketches and progress presentations to exclusive content. For example, when I'm writing I do extensive planning and prep for my story, and make notes on how to improve it from draft to draft. That prep work will be bundled into a professional-level PFD and hosted here for supporters.
But that would get boring pretty quick! Direct support on Patreon will also give the freedom to experiment and innovate. Whether it's writing new stories, making interactive narratives, starting My Big Backstory project, drawing compelling animatics, or taking a risk on bigger, more experimental projects, my goal is to find something we'll both love! And every little bit helps!
Goals
$0 of $1,800 per month
When I reach $1,800 a month, I'll get a masters in Publishing. Because of my formal training, I'll offer copyediting services.
