Welcome to Fair Folk's patreon, home of the monthly Fair Folk Almanac!

My goal is to get folklore out of old books and lost civilizations and into your ears.
You’re not the only one who wants the old ways to inform the new ones. There are people all over this planet living folk tradition every day, and I want to go out and find them and share their wisdom with you!

Fair Folk is a conduit for sharing the two things I love best: folk music and folk culture.
Since its first broadcast from an independent radio station in a decommissioned train car in northern Canada, Fair Folk has become my favourite thing to do. Over the two years I've been producing the show, I have also discovered that there are many others who share my burning interest in all of the ways we can of know, speak, sing and dance the past.
You might even say this growing interest in folk culture is a movement.
There have been folk revivals before, and for many purposes (some of them dubious) but what makes our current folk revival movement more exciting than those previous, is that it's happening now, and it has a pair of seven-league boots* called the internet that may allow us to share between the earth's many cultures with more subtlety, generosity, and insight than ever before. That's my hope for Fair Folk, and for all things folk.

*Seven League boots are a motif in European folklore. They allow the wearer to travel seven leagues in a single step, often allowing them to achieve a legendary goal.

Goals
85% complete
When I reach $1000 a month, I will be able to cover transportation and accommodation costs for producing Fair Folk on the road this summer (at folk cultural and musical events, universities, conferences, sacred sites, and artist residencies.)
I will also be able to hire an editor to help me produce the podcast much faster and more often.
