Farrah Garland is creating Disability Education & Advocacy

Oh hey! My name is Farrah. I write very openly about my life with chronic pain and disability, as well as the good and bad of being a lady boss, a lot of science communication, and general nerdage on Twitter, Facebook, and my Blog, WorkShark.

I consistently strive to educate people about disabilities and mental health, working to create equality and inclusion and dispell stigmas, as well as advocate on behalf of these marginalized groups. Additionally, I'm working to jumpstart a program, #AccessibilityPSA, to increase accessibility in the design and building of public spaces, educate folks about accessibility issues and disability rights as well as provide other needed aids for the disabled community.  All this I do joyfully, while also finishing my doctorate and running 4 other businesses. Because disabled babes are strong, powerful, and unstoppable!

The support of the beautiful people in my life make deepening and expanding my disability, mental health advocacy, and minority issues work possible. It also helps me with the basic expenses of living with chronic illnesses and disabilities, & Patreon makes it super easy! From covering co-pays and lab fees, to helping fund new programs to better serve my community, your support makes a world of difference. Thank you all so much for everything you do. You rock!

Much like WorkShark, my posts on here will be varied, dictated by my health and cognitive function. But, here's what you can expect from me in exchange for your kindness:

Any level of patronage grants you a unique, more private peek into my life, as well as updates on my work, pictures of my cat, and more. And it also means I can continue the super awesome work being done by #AccessibilityPSA and Work Shark that brought you here in the first place!
I don't make any promises about how often I will post here, as my life is constantly up in the air & fluctuating due to my health. But I do promise you that I will never forget about you, and when the brain fog allows and I have something worth saying, you'll be the rifst to know <3

If you have a little more to give, I can send you postcards and letters! Teas and sketches. Make little videos, and more.
