Realizing my Star Wars documentary
This will enable me to create my Star Wars documentary and share it with the world!
Extra mini-documentaries every month!
This will allow me to hire a camera man and an editor on a weekly basis to help me create small additional documentaries (around 20 minutes per video) every month!
The ULTIMATE DREAM: creating full-length documentaries!
Right now, I can only dream of reaching this goal, but it would enable me to realize a life-long dream: create full-length, television quality documentaries about faith and popular culture: about the deeper layers in Star Wars or The Hobbit, about Catholic New Media, Catholics in China, the Vatican and so much more!

Hi! I'm father Roderick Vonhögen, a Dutch Catholic priest. And a big Star Wars fan, as you might have noticed :)
Thousands of podcasts
Since 2005, I have been creating thousands of audio and video programs that have reached millions of people all over the world. In my weekly shows like the Break, the Walk, GeekWeek and PixelPlay, I talk about movies, games, technology, geek culture and faith.
On my Youtube channel and on Trideo.com, I share my video productions and vlogs. My recent Star Wars video was seen by more than a million people. It is an amazing opportunity to reach out and bring them joy, hope and inspiration. It's a fitting mission for a priest.
The next level
Thankfully, SQPN.com provides webhosting and postproduction for the podcasts, but I've been paying the other costs out of my own pocket. As a priest, I have a modest income, but it is not enough to take my work to the next level.
Help me expand my mission!
Right now, there is a huge audience on Youtube that we can't reach with audio shows. Luckily, I have been working in television production for many years now, and I have a lot of ideas for video productions. But video is more time-intensive and costly than audio.

That's why I need your help. With your support as a Patron, you can help me expand my mission to the world of online video. There is a great need for video productions that bring the world of faith and popular culture together. Like in my newest project: I hope to make a Lego web series for kids to help parents teach them about faith in a fun and entertaining way.
Star Wars Documentary
One of the Trideo projects I am working on this year is a documentary about the secret of Star Wars. With the release of Star Wars VII, the saga will have inspired two generations: the parents (my generation) and their children. What is it in Star Wars that captivates people from all generations and backgrounds?

George Lucas wanted to create a new mythology to teach future generations about good and evil. Underneath the action-filled, exciting stories, there is a deeper layer about the fundamental themes in our lives: friendship, sacrifice, betrayal, fall and redemption. Can parents use their passion for Star Wars to transmit these themes and values to their children? Did Lucas succeed in his original mission? Or did Star Wars lose its soul once it became a massive worldwide franchise?
The costs of this ambitious documentary project are roughly $24,000. Which means I need to raise at least $2,000 per month. If you join me, you can help to make this happen.
Why should you become my patron?
With your support, I can realize this project and many other video projects. And of course, I want to give you something (a lot!) in return. For instance, you will be able to witness the development of all these programs up close and personal, because as a Patron, you will get access to my exclusive video series "Behind the scenes with Father Roderick". And I will constantly surprise you with extras to show you my gratitude.
IF YOU SIGN UP FOR $10/MONTH OR MORE, YOU WILL GET THE DIGITAL DOWNLOAD OF THE STAR WARS DOCUMENTARY + EXCLUSIVE EXTRAS FOR FREE!

But the most important reason to join me as a patron, is that you can help me make a positive difference in this world. So many people who saw my videos told me how much joy it gave them. How it changed their views on priests and on faith. How surprised they were to learn that the world of geeks and popular culture has such amazing connections to deeper layers of faith and spirituality.
I hope you will join me. And together we can rule the universe... no wait, that was someone else's line. :)
But join me anyway!
