Hello I am a 26 year old person living in Portland Oregon. I grew up as a military brat and have lived all over the country and world. I studied filmmaking in College but decided against pursuing it as a profession. I found any film job I did put a bad taste in my mouth, and also had a major mental break and left school over night and was checked into a mental institution. After all of that I moved to Annapolis Maryland to start figuring out who I was and what I wanted to make. Then about 4 years ago I moved across the country to live in a tool shed, and I slept on a futon that I shared with one of my best friends after he convinced me to start a band with him, which I still actively play in and we tour as much as possible. The band is called On Drugs and I'd hope people thought of it as art math rock but I just call it "flat earther rock". We have one record out "Stay Yuck" and are about to release a second record. We have been gaining traction which means more tours and longer ones too, but touring doesn't pay the bills yet and its becoming more difficult to hold down any pizza job with having to leaving so often for several weeks on end. I was a terrible musician for so long but just loved performing which was something music gave me that filmmaking couldn't. Naturally being a talentless person I started off making a lot of noise music.
I started to come into myself as an artist during the time I spent playing in Tijuana, Mexico. I actively booked shows and fell in love with the radical people in the city. I co-created the Borderlands Noise Fest with the brilliant artist Heydee Jimenez which was honestly one of the first times I ever got to work with a full blown eat/breath/creating artist. She was the real shit and I will always look up to her for the things she would create and put into motion. We even had the opportunity to put on a noise showcase for the All My Friends music festival which at 22 blew me away that some stoner kid such as myself was able to partake in. Alongside playing in On Drugs, I have been releasing noise records on a small record label I created called Feel Bad Beats which can be found on bandcamp.
Painting is also something I've started to take myself serious in. The first painting I ever made was a collaborative piece I made with a good friend in the middle of a terrible acid trip. I truly understand that Luis Bunuel film Exterminating Angels because of that acid trip. At first painting was just therapeutic and was something I would do while stoned in whatever shitty, moldy basement I was living in at the time. But earlier this year I partook in the Fascia art installation here in portland where I was asked to do live painting and a musician would musically interpret what I was doing. Honestly my thesis was to induce a panic attack and try and express heavy anxiety in the painting. Sometimes committing to an idea physically hurts because that project almost tore my brain to pieces. Turns out a heavy Sativa joint will send me into a spiraling manic episode.
I've been working at pizza places for the last four years now because its the only job that musicians can really pursue while touring a lot. When I first started getting really good at the craft I started to struggle with the idea of getting good at something that I never really honestly set out to do. I moved here to make art not pizza, but I've totally fallen in love with cooking. My plan is to work in as many different types of pizza places and work with all kinds of ovens and after a few more years I plan on writing the book on what pizza means and what it means to be a pizza cook. When I get to the point in my life that I can't tour anymore I will open my own pizza shop. Pizza is in my blood just as much as any other art form I am pursuing.
I have a very strong passion for the creatives of this world, life wouldn't seem worth it without them. I believe art is what will save the earth one day and anyone that is creating artistic content in todays society is a fucking hero of mine. When I first heard about this website I couldn't believe that there was something so beautiful like it. I promise to keep creating and touring as long as I physically can.

$23 of $200 per month
I several years ago I had my computer stolen which then led me stopping from getting all my film developed but I never stopped taking photos. So now i have way too many rolls of film decaying over the years but I have never been able to bring myself to shell out the couple hundreds of dollars to develop all of them. If I reach this goal I will blow it all on film development.
