Debut EP 'Eventide' and my single 'A Fine Night' are available on all major platforms.

About Me:

I'm a Sydney (AU) based singer songwriter. I'm a complex trauma survivor and supporter. I'm on a healing journey and want to share what works for me with others, with the hope that it can also help them.

I've loved music since before I was born. Did you know that foetuses can hear and register music? Yep I was one of those according to my mum.
After trying out a few instruments throughout my life: recorder (no seriously), keyboards, french horn, I ended up falling for the guitar. In 2010, under the heavy spell of Anaïs Mitchell's Hadestown folk opera, I began to turn the poems and prose I had been writing since I was 15 into songs. And then new songs came. Suddenly playing more than cover songs and learning the guitar felt exhilarating and meditative. I felt purpose driven even though I had little clarity other than 'I need to write and sing this dammit!'. And in 2015 I decided that fear of the stage wasn't going to hold me back any longer, that I will pursue my music dreams.

Artist Bio:
Feiloka, a made-up nickname in her teenage years, reflects the long time musical passion of the Sydney, Australia based artist. From learning keys at age 5 to playing in the high school band, and writing and producing originals, the fire never went out.
An indie-folk style pop singer-songwriter with a fondness for storytelling, she loves unravelling to pensiveness. Her influences include Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, Anaïs Mitchell, Laura Marling and Feist.
In 2018, working with Michelle Barry as her mixing engineer, she self-released debut EP Eventide. It is a raw, honest reflection on her experiences and coming to terms with herself. The SoundFly community calls it “a deep dive through your emotions”. It caught the attention of FM99.3, where she interviewed with John Regan. Later she was invited to play at The Newsagency as part of Sydney Fringe Festival 2018, as well as New Beginnings Festival, a celebration of cultural diversity in Sydney hosted by SSI. Feiloka released her debut single, A Fine Night, shortly after.
As a survivor of complex trauma and abuse, music-making became her act of empowerment, self-expression, freedom and resilience. Her music isn’t afraid of vulnerability, coming directly from the heart of a survivor. It fuels her to be an honest songwriter, and to respect and remember our collective humanity. She hopes that through music, we can stand in solidarity, heal together and eliminate the prejudices that segregate and divide us still.
She is a strong advocate for mental health, survivors of domestic violence and child abuse. She is excited about incorporating music into her healing journey and is currently working on Tarot Songs Podcast. Check it out here!
Right now, Feiloka is hard at work in her studio, creating for the podcast and penning new songs for upcoming projects. Stay tuned!

I make indie folk songs, but I love exploring all genres. I post about my adventures being a working musician/freelance writer, and sometimes in the form of podcasts that tie everything together. You can find "Sessions with Feiloka" on  iTunes , Spotify and Stitcher. (Update: I have wrapped up the podcast production).

I'm currently producing an ambitious c-trauma sensitive project involving tarot cards and ambient music. Take a listen and read about the project here: Tarot Songs

Releasing on Patreon is a great way for me to reach out and connect to and hear back from the wider community.

My wider long term goals ...
My main goals are to share my experiences through songs as a woman, a migrant, and a person of colour, to heal from complex trauma and help others find their healing too – with the hope that by doing so, I can contribute to diversity and to reach and support those who need it. Diversity, equality are very important to me, I cannot stand idly by. So I do what I can.

My other goal is to meet the financial needs of being a working artist, such as production and equipment running costs, as well as paying the rent and food. And because getting paid for the things I create encourages me to create more!

Not that it will stop me from creating more music. Because it is part of who I am, and without it, I am a depressed unhappy sad blob.

Thanks so much again for being here! I look forward to connecting with you and sharing with you this music filled journey.
