Hey,

My name is Jonathan Müller. I'm a computer science student at the RWTH Aachen University.

You probably know me as foonathan and from my blog or my projects. I'm currently working on standardese — a C++ documentation generator, memory allocators, a C++ AST parsing library and facilities for type-safe programming. I've also started a library for array based containers.

However, I need your help!

If you become a patron, this helps me in three ways:
  1. Money (obviously) — I'll be able to work more on my projects, buy new equipment, travel to more conferences and get some of those classical programming books I haven't read yet.
  2. Moral obligation — if you are actually supporting me here, I have a reason against being lazy and continue programming. This is great for both of us.
  3. Feeling of support — I'll see how many people like my projects, so I am more motivated. Plus, if you want to support a project specifically, you can do exactly that. I will take it in consideration when allocating my time.
But I will not always have time to work on them. That's why I'm not charging per month, but instead per "productive period". A productive period can be over in 7 days but it can also last a lot longer (it's usually once a month). Everytime I feel like I've accomplished a lot — that's a productive week. So don't worry if I have an exam season, I won't charge you. But I also will never charge you more than once per week and you can set monthly caps.

If you won't become a patron, don't worry: I still listen to your issues and feature requests. But for a cup of coffee per month you could really make an impact.

Thank you all for your support!

Goals
$50 – reached! per productive week
If I ever reach this goal, I'll look into getting my own CI servers to enable faster and better development, more extensive compiler checking, etc.  Thank you so much!
