G'day!

My names Forrest, i’m 24 from a small town on the SE coast of Australia, called Gerroa.

I’ve been saving up as much $$ as I can for the past 8 years since I finished high school. I always planned to do something sensible with the savings like put a deposit on an entry level house etc but for reasons I won’t get into now I’ve decided to blow it all on traveling around the world whilst simultaneously creating a YouTube series documenting the interesting people and places i'll no doubt come across along the way.

I’ve also just bought a 40 year old yacht in Europe with the slight challenge of having had 0 prior experience. This will no doubt be an interesting (and perhaps painful) challenge.

I’ve learnt so much from Indepent creators on YouTube like Peter McKinnon, Casey Neistat and Sailing La Vagabond - I’m grateful to them so ultimately I hope I can give back and help people in the same way that they’ve helped and inspired me.

Of course I want to make the videos for my own selfish reasons as well - I want to get back to why I started making videos as a kid, which was to have fun, try not think to much about how other people will judge it and just enjoy the creative process.

For example a few years ago I felt like I had finally gained enough experience mucking around making videos over the years that I could try and do it professionally. It started off slow and then suddenly I was getting offered all sorts of commercial jobs, whether it be real estate, weddings, businesses, products and even a few trips overseas shooting surfing. I was grateful for all this work but it felt like my love for film making was fading in such a structured environment and before long I was only make time to create videos if it was for a job.

Anyway! I’ve decided to chase this dream of creating the kinds of videos I like to see, I hope you'll enjoy them and I can share this adventures with you!

Perhaps you even have some suggestions on some people or places I should visit along the way?  - Cheers, Forrest

$500 would start to make real a dent in covering the most basic costs of producing the series. Equipment, travel expenses etc
