I'm starting a podcast!

For the past two years I’ve been interviewing experts on full-spectrum reproductive healthcare and the abortion doula movement in a monthly webinar series that I've coordinated and hosted.

Now I’m re-launching these conversations as a podcast in order to make them more accessible.

You can listen to the podcast:
I’ve gotten to talk with some amazing people, like
  • Mary Mahoney & Lauren Mitchell, authors of The Doulas: Radical Care for Pregnant People
  • Aalap Bommaraju, sociologist, speaking about racism and reproductive stigma
  • Renee Bracey Sherman, reproductive justice activist & expert on personal abortion storytelling
  • Melinda Morales, founder of Project Teen Birth, on nonjudgmental support for pregnant and parenting teens
  • Indra Lusero, Staff Attorney, National Advocates for Pregnant Women & Mishka Terplan, MD on Pregnancy and Drug Use: The Facts
  • and many more...

I’ll be editing those webinar conversations to make them podcast-friendly and I’ll be recording new interviews especially for the podcast.

Shifting from webinars to a podcast format has been a lot of work, but I'm doing it because everyone I talk to who's been a part of this series says they'd prefer podcasts. I've been checking out what other podcasts are out there, reading library books about podcasting, figuring out a whole bunch of details. I could just upload the webinar files and be done, but I want to do a good job of making podcasts you want to listen to and learn from.

Your contribution will help me to sustain this work. Researching people to interview, reaching out to them, doing the interviews, editing the sound, and uploading the podcasts all take time and energy. It also costs money to publish a podcast.

Doulas traditionally provide non-medical, empowering support for birth. Full-spectrum doulas provide the same kind of support for the full spectrum of pregnancy outcomes, including abortion.

We do this to create a culture of compassion, love, and justice in which all people have the freedom and resources they need to make free choices about their bodies and their families.
