Films, TV Shows, Musicals, Books, Music, YouTube; they all have one thing in common for me, they offer a form of escapism. When I am feeling down, turning to one of these never fails to make me feel better, even if for only a short time. I hope that through the videos I create I am able to do the same for someone else!

I make a mixture of videos, mainly chatting about things I love; including but not limited to musicals, pop culture, relatable problems and random interesting topics. I also try to sing and be funny on a regular basis.

However.

I want to be making better videos. When I do skits (comedy sketches) I want to be able to have decent costumes and props and potentially even get other people involved. When I do song covers I want to be able to make music videos for them. Eventually I even want to be making short films.

However I can't do this without help. All of this costs money. Currently I don't have enough subscribers and watch time to be eligible for monetisation. Any money I spend on videos I do not see back.

Lets take this video as an example:

The total cost of this video for me was £40. That was all spent on wigs. One of the wigs was not correct, but the correct one would have cost an extra £10, so I had to make do with a different one. The wigs were literally the bare minimum I needed for this video. Ideally I had wanted to spend more on costumes, make them more accurate and get some of the little details represented. But I couldn't afford that.

I had a really good blanket I was going to use as a cloak, but I ended up having to use it to try and reduce the echo in the room I was filming in. The only room I had access to with a plain wall was incredibly echo-y so I had to sacrifice costume quality for a minor improvement in audio quality, because I didn't have access to a good location.

I had wanted to have photos of the characters on the backs of their 'CV's', but our colour printer is broken so I would have needed to pay to have them printed and either posted or petrol and parking to go and collect them.

I really could have done with having another person help me film, it would have made it easier to set up the camera framing and lighting, I'm not quite happy with how they ended up, but I don't have many people around where I live that I can call on, so I would have had to have paid transport costs.

There is so much more I wanted to do with this video that I couldn't afford to, and even to do it at all in the first place I needed to spend £40.

That's why I'm setting up this Patreon. £40 on a video may not seem like much, and for a one off video it was fine. But if I wanted to do that more consistently, that's just something I can't afford! Not to mention that was still an incredibly low quality video, and I want to be producing much more higher quality things!

If you have seen any of my videos and enjoyed them, or just want to support someone trying to be creative, please consider donating to my Patreon, every little really does help!

Also, sidenote, Patreon is a US site and operates in dollars. They take a percentage of what is pledged, so not only do I not get it all, but I then have to translate it to pounds. So if my goals look set a little higher then what my description in pounds is saying, then it's to account for the fees and currency exchange!</centre>
