HIYA!


We're GastroGays, Patrick Hanlon & Russell Alford. We've been writing about food and travel for the past five years on GastroGays.com, and now we're the duo behind a brand new podcast 'Chew The Fat', launching in June 2018. In each episode we're shunning the confines of a stuffy studio and embark out into the field, meeting, interviewing and spotlighting the work of the most incredibly interesting and talented people. Chewing the fat about what they do and how they do it, we're focusing on those we really think you should know in the world of food and beyond.

This is the first digital publication aside from our blog which we've embarked on and we're seriously excited. Having worked in the likes of RTÉ Lifestyle and BBC Radio 1, it's a natural pooling of our industry skills to produce weekly content that we think offers a new slant to the podcasting sphere.

Why do we need support? We've happily taken on the expense of travel across Ireland (and beyond) and segmenting our time to interview and edit over the last few months in preparation for the first episodes to be shared, but it would really help us to have have some community-sourced funding to help with the equipment and technology costs – software, online hosting, recording hardware. We think we have something really unique to share and we would absolutely adore your help in this early, early stage to bring it all to life :)
