why and how i do what i do:
i make art because i love to create it. it is a very personal, involved–and at times–costly endeavor. much–if not all–of the work i post is done purely out of the love of doing it and i receive no compensation for creating it, like stated before i do it for the love of doing it. i create props and costumes–many from scratch–as well as behind the scenes videos afterwards to show the entire process and it takes a great deal of time and money to make all of this happen.

i love to teach:
i also field questions from other artists/photographers on a daily basis about a myriad of art related questions from photoshop to lighting to illustration techniques and beyond. teaching is something i love to do and is why i always oblige and give my time to help others in need.

why i set up this Patreon account:
what i am hoping to gain from this patreon venture is a way to help offset some of the costs of doing what i do as an artist. i spend a very large amount of time and money hunting through thrift stores, shopping on amazon, and purchasing supplies at hardware/fabric stores to make the props you see in my shots. to me the props are a major part of the stories i tell through my work and that is why i invest the time and money to make sure they are just right.

i am also hoping to act as a mentor to those who are seeking out artistic advice be it photography, illustration, or animation related. having a way to interact with my patrons with a personal level of interaction and support, where they can bounce questions, ideas or even personal critiques of their work in progress will be one of my goals. by receiving compensation for what i currently give away would help offset the time that i do spend doing much of this, time spent away from work that currently pays the day to day bills

equipment is always on the short list of needs for any artist, and i am no exception. while i don't have G.A.S. (gear acquisition syndrome) and don't need new gear/electronics/tablets every week, i do have some specific equipment goals that i am shooting for that i have been patiently trying to save for but always seem to have those funds fall to unforeseen other priorities that arise (car repairs, household repairs, etc.)

a sample of things to come:
if you would like a sneak peek at what type of work you can expect to see, as well as the types of behind the scenes videos i hope to produce more of using funds received, then hop over to my website and give it a look. www.eclecticanima.com

you will be seeing on here any and all of the various types of art that i create from illustration to photography to graphic design to even animation, i plan to share bits of all that i do through this page and would love for you to join me along the way

final words:
so i hope this gives you a little insight into what i am trying to achieve with this and would love for you to join me in this venture of creativity, i guarantee you won't be disappointed

this will keep me able to continue to produce my behind the scenes videos and tutorials and possibly even purchase some better equipment in which to capture everything with. my future goal is to have permanent cameras set up throughout my studio space all linked to a computer that i can not only record my setup/shooting process better, but possibly even do shoots during live hangouts online that people could be a part of
