Out NOW: I Wouldn’t Mind Dyin’ (and Other Essays) is a book that prides itself on exploring the black alternative experience, with pieces on Afropunk, Delta blues, “emo rap”, as well as providing insight on mainstream goth cultural icons, and more.

J.W. Thurston is an African-American author, of the book I Wouldn’t Mind Dyin’ (and Other Essays)--a meditation on the alternative black experience, and the owner of Serene Pristine™, creating an extensive catalog of multimedia content under this name. Under Serene Pristine™, they have so far released two books of poetry (Poetry for Capricorns, & Venus), been featured in Lora Mathis's "Radical Softness" zine, SPCE's LOVEbook chapbook series, The Eclectic Performing Arts Company's Kindle chapbook Inflection, and was a guest writer for BritpopNews.com. J.W. also has contributed art to local protests/political causes, sold clothes, and designed webpages and electronic press kits for the likes of Johnny Stranger and Patrick Duff.
