Every 6 months I write, record, release and tour a new album of socio-political satirical songs completely on my own. I started this project in 2013 - it will be 2033 when it ends. I'll be 55-years old. Constantly at my side is my double bass.

From my press bio:
"Acerbic, observant wit applied to songs that engage with any audience that will listen. With one of the sweetest voices working the tour circuit at the moment, Grant has honed his live skills with songs such as ‘I’m Sorry To Hear You’re A Racist’, ‘Biochemiclusterf*ck’, ‘Uncle Twinklefingers’ (about Rupert Murdoch), ‘Pencils’ (about the paranoia around pencils in voting booths), ‘Call That A Master Race?!’ (bassists being better than Nazis) and ‘Tories’ (neoliberalism). His mastery of the earworm is getting stronger and stronger with each album.

For the last five and a half years, Grant Sharkey has been writing an album every 6 months and then going on DIY tours around the UK. After 11 albums, setting up his own nation, releasing a certain media baron’s private London home address in song and sometimes sleeping in his car, he is finally making his way to say hello to Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Playing around 150-200 gigs per year, in front rooms, festivals (inc. Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Bestival), pubs and venues; whilst receiving absolutely zero press coverage or radio play he’s managed to build a career that pulls in a precarious £9-10.5k per year (gross). He has shared the stage with Electric 6, Andrew O’Neill, Beans on Toast, The Blockheads, Mike Watt (the stooges, minutemen), The Lounge Kittens, K*nt and the Gang and George Monbiot."

Album release dates are May 1st and November 5th each year.
