Patrick Blount is a full time artist blacksmith. He started working with metal after a 10+ year career as a freelance photographer come to a close. He is a BWFA certified farrier as well as a graduate of the Virginia Institute of Blacksmithing. Patrick is the only certified artist blacksmith in Georgia. He is dedicated to making extremely high quality iron work with impeccable design.

Greenhow Handmade Ironworks is opening a 10,000 square foot blacksmith shop, retail space, showroom, and blacksmith school. The building was the original horse stable used by the historic city of Comer, Georgia to house its carriage horses. Since that time, it has been a number of other business, but mainly a feed and seed store. It was at this time that an oak floor was built over the original dirt floor of the stables. We have received special permission from the city to remove most of the wood flooring to take the building back to its original state. This part of its history will not be lost as we will maintain the flooring in the 1,200 square foot retail space and showroom and use the flooring we remove from the shop area to build the walls and ceiling for the showroom.

The main goal of this Patreon page is to raise money to establish an artistic blacksmithing school in Georgia. At this time there is no artistic blacksmithing school in Georgia, and as I am the only certified artist blacksmith in Georgia, passing the knowledge that has been passed on to me to others is very important in revitalizing the tradition of the small town blacksmith.
