okTurtles is a non-profit that supports beneficial decentralization technologies. It conducts education, research, and development to that effect.
A new kind of decentralized software that empowers any group to provide itself with a basic income in a very efficient, secure, and low-overhead manner.
Group Income is a free, open-source project of the okTurtles Foundation.
Most people think the 🔒 icon in your browser's location bar means their connection to this website is secure, but that's not necessarily true.
In reality, the entire Internet's security relies on very flimsy protocols and questionable trust assumptions.
DNSChain, and especially DPKI, are the low-level plumbing the Internet needs for higher-level messaging apps (like email) to be secure.
DPKI is part of a collective effort called Rebooting Web of Trust, a group headed by Christopher Allen, co-author of SSL/TLS, and involves collaboration with blockchain startups like Blockstack and uPort.
You can see how this approach compares with others.
All of these projects are synergistic. Group Income is able to do what it does because of my research and work on DNSChain and DPKI.
Your sponsorship will help me afford California rent so that I can give my full attention to Group Income and DPKI.
Once Group Income's 1.0 is released, my plan is to close this Patreon and switch to Group Income.
Living in California, in turn, helps me further these goals by allowing face-to-face collaboration with others who are working in these fields.
