Erik Bowen Years ago, a friend of mine wanted to prove a plant wasn't poison ivy. He picked it and rubbed it all over his body. Let's just say it was a good thing his father was a paramedic. But, I get what you're saying. I think everyone has that voice in their head but, our conscious mind keeps it in check.

Neetan Kalair Love it! Mine? Well wake up at some unholy hour (5-6am), shower, coffee, check the news, read, at some point of the day feel extremely lonely, eat, try and be creative (slight problem that I don't have a creative bone :-\), think and then sleep

Carver Oblander Late to the party, but- I went to Philadelphia for the first time earlier this month to visit my brother. Always a shock visiting an actual big city, but now I'm back in Portland, OR now trying to shake off a cold. I enjoy most ice creams (apart from an unfortunately Frito-esque avocado flavor experience), but especially mint chocolate chip and cookie dough. Froyo is also excellent. Otherwise, I am enjoying life, contemplating what to eat next, and making puns. Hoping to start uploading to YouTube again soon! Safe travels in Asia next month, Kina! Also, my girlfriend loved your most recent cover!

Rikard Holmqvist I'm all good! School just started, but that's okay... My thoughts on ice cream? Hmm, hard one. Always takes me 10 minutes to decide, but in the end I probably pick strawberry cheesecake :3 nom nom nom

Nathan Sloan Ice cream is always good, no matter what. Always. In other news, Kina, I think since you finish up in SEA on the 27th, and it just so happens that the 28th is my birthday, you should come to Sydney and party!

Adam (loves you Kina) I don't know why, but I just love videos where she is just playing a guitar or piano, and singing. I mean, I love all her videos, but I love these too. They're simple, but watching Kina perform makes them magical for me, as well. Like they're a little more personal, and therefor special.

Eric Hofmann I've been going over and over this video in my head and now that I'm going to sleep it became clear, which usually just means I should go to sleep and reflect on the apparent clarity in the sober light of day, but I'm feeling lucky. Kina is the most genuine person in the world. This isn't a revelation to anyone. Keeping that in mind, we all have different modes of expression. Think of how we express with our faces depending on whether we're in a room with someone or over the computer. I have thought a great deal about that in the past and best describe it as being "switched on". Again, a person can be genuine (or not!) no matter which position the switch is in, and Kina is always genuine. This is the only official video where she is never singing, and it's the only official video of Jesse's that is also uploaded on her channel, and it's the only official video of Jesse's that she (or he!) appears in visually. I don't think these are coincidences! And I think this is what Kina is like when she's switched OFF. The way she carries herself, the way she expresses herself, it seems different here. Kina invites us into communion with her singing, with her face, with her friendly chatting. This time we are invited instead to observe, or more precisely NOT FORBIDDEN from doing so. Kina has said many times before how important and treasured connection is to her, and there can be no disputing that. For once in three hundred videos, it just so happens that the connection here is primarily with Jesse and we are along for the quite enjoyable ride. I just remembered the My Dear official video which hits a lot of the same notes. So... sort of never mind. But sort of still! It just took me a second dose to realize.

Eric Hofmann I've been puzzled about the My Dear lyrics for a long time too, because for example Jesse doesn't have a scar on his forehead and Kina does. The very last thing I thought last night was "oh! I must look at both lyrics together, that will solve the puzzle, hooray!" Wrong again. But there is a nice connection anyway! Check it out: "If I hold on to you and don't let you go, will you feel me? need me? don't let me go?" "If we're a hundred feet beneath the deepest sea or at the mercy of the tide, no matter where we are, whether you're near or far, I'll be forever on your side." So that's pretty!

Adam (loves you Kina) I agree with you completely Eric, about feeling Kina always being genuine and honest. That's are ally big part of why I am so adamant of supporting her. Her music and beautiful lyrics and voice have helped me in severe times of loss, heartbreak, and pain in general, and they still do, on a daily basis. That was what got me first interested in her as a musician, but her devotion to staying true to herself and her beautiful music abilities push her one step further, to me at least, as a true musical artist. I'm not usually a fan of a lot of musicians, usually because it's an image being pushed by a label, and not the true artist anymore. I've seen this multiple times over the years with artists such as Jewel, Michelle Branch, and more recently Demi Lovato. They changed themselves and their music to suit what the labels wanted, and while some fans followed the changes, I didn't because it's not the same person that attracted me in the first place. And they say they promote girls and young women to be themselves, that they don't need to change for someone else, then they wear skimpy outfits. If that was who they were before, I would have passed. From her music, to her interviews, to her meet-and-greets, to her fundraising for the LLS and through Run Team Kina, and especially her amazing, beautiful, yet traditional clothing styles, which I love unconditionally, because she let's relies on her music and genuinely wonderful singing, song-writing, and guitar and piano-playing talents promote her music, without trying to rely on her sexuality and using skimpy outfits while pretending to promote healthy role-model attributes. We love Kina and her music because of how she is now, and not how someone else would want her to be. Sorry for my novel.
