About Heather Jarmusz

I am a (newly) single mom of a rambunctious, adorable, clever little boy. I started designing toys and baby playthings for him to play with, so my creations have all been thoroughly researched, tested and approved by my target market (my kid).

I pride myself on writing easy-to-follow, thorough patterns that any level of crocheter can use and feel proud of the item they've created. While most of my patterns are items for babies and toddlers (rattles, security blankets and small dolls), I do have a couple of patterns for grown-ups, like my Louis CK doll and Louise from Bob's Burgers.

My goal is to be able to support myself and son as a full-time independent crochet pattern designer. There is a lot of trial and error that goes into pattern designing- does this shape look better than that? What color yarn best gets this idea across? Is this unique and interesting looking? One of the ways that you, as a patron, can help is provide financial support for the materials that go into creating a new amigurumi and getting it out into the world- yarn, stuffing, rattles, photo props, Etsy user fees, advertising, etc.

My goal for 2014 was to release a new pattern every week, and I'm not that far off from being successful. Help me take this from a part-time gig to a full-time labor of love. xoxo, heather
