I make Twitter bots! I've been making them regularly since January 2016, and there's quite a few now (currently 30)! You can check out the whole list on Twitter. Some of the more well-known ones are:

  • The Binary Generator (@differencebot), which generates silly pictures of false dichotomies using linguistic data to pick antonymic words.
  • Rawr eBooks (@Rawr_Ebooks) was inspired by @Horse_ebooks and is a Markov process based off both my own text, and large bodies of text found on the internet.
  • Hi Dad, I'm Dad (@fatherpuns) follows you back and occasionally responds to your tweets with "Dad jokes".

I also do non-bot things; in particular, making these bots requires infrastructure that I'm continually working on! This includes verbly, a natural language generation / linguistic database library that I use in a large number of my bots, and libtwitter++, a streaming-enabled C++ Twitter API that I use for all of my bots.

Working on these projects is a lot of fun but is also a lot of work! I'm constantly coming up with new ideas, but the older bots need work too. I really appreciate everyone who likes my bots enough to donate to me!

You can find me on Twitter (@starla4444) and GitHub (@hatkirby).
