Hello! Let me introduce myself and my company to you...
My Name is Mauro Sanches and I started  HeadlessBuddha Samples three years ago. We produce some very unique sample libraries for Kontakt and in WAV format. We mostly use some vintage/lo-fi/diy gear to record instruments that we believe you'll hardly have access to and have been distributing these at affordable prices.

Some history...
I love everything tape and DIY. I used to make my own guitar pedals and made my first guitar amp when I was a teenager and soon started selling and modding guitar/bass pedals and amps. Later when I started understanding how the recording/mixing process works I soon figured out that I needed decent gear, so I built me some preamps, EQs, Compressors and even Mics (sometimes I didn't even know what they were supposed to sound like), modded mixing consoles and tape machines, and what not. But I obviously didn't build every piece of gear that I own, I also acquired some very nice gear.
I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. From mid 60s to mid 80s we went through a military dictatorship and it was REALLY hard to buy anything that wasn't made here. This lead many companies to creating and producing great instruments and studio gear that are now very coveted since we've had access to everything for some decades now and they are out of production. Like in any market, some companies and products are highly successful, while others just don't, even though they're great. I own quite a few of these forgotten gems that I bought for almost nothing and the previous owners knew nothing about.
If you're into some jazz, bossa nova, or any Brazilian music recorded here during the 60s/70s, you've probably heard the sound of some very rare tape machines, consoles, preamps, etc.

Why Patreon?
To make it short, I want to keep it really affordable to people who like what we do while been able to always expand.
I have at least five Kontakt instruments almost ready to go, but I'd need to hire a graphic designer and a coder to do stuff that I just can't in order to develop the best for you. My income from HeadlessBuddha Samples isn't always certain (and sometimes it's pretty low), which makes it hard to free sometime to work on new stuff and hire other professionals.
Having a guaranteed income  would allow us to produce new Kontakt Instruments with better user interfaces and functionality much faster than we usually do. It would also allow us to expand our production to other sample formats and work on ideas that we'd leave aside in order to keep costs to a minimum, rent instruments and gear to sample, etc.

I'm really excited about taking this new direction with HeadlessBuddha Samples and being able to get a bit closer to you this way. Suggestions are always welcome and I hope you'll join me in my sonic journey and let me join you in yours.

With your support, I look forward to producing higher quality Kontakt instruments, Loops, Samples, and all that much faster than before and getting to know you a little better.

Cheers,
Mauro Sanches
