It also holds a special place in Dia de los muertos in Mexico serving to guide passed loved ones home for the day's celebrations. "Mary's gold" was also once offered at the feet of Mary statues by early Christians as an offering instead of gold. It also makes beautiful dye.

I create plant dyed silk ribbon and plant dyed bamboo fabric for gift wrapping, styling and sewing projects. I make many of the dyes in my kitchen using foraged plant materials and food waste. Some of you already support my by sending me your avocado pits! For certain colors I do use purchased plant dye materials, but I still make and hand dye everything myself.
My watercolor painting is often part of my own personal spiritual practice. My work is often abstract or semi-abstract. I paint mindfully often after a time of practicing yoga, prayer or meditation. I would love to share this practice with you.
As a patron of my art I would love to share process videos and art with you! My hope is to provide you with special access to digital downloads, inspirational quotes, meditative painting videos, process videos, discount codes and eventually small art pieces or prints.
Where is your money going? Your money is helping me continue to purchase high quality, sustainable, eco-conscious supplies for my art. I care deeply about using my resources wisely and try whenever possible limit any negative impact my art process may have on our beautiful earth. Plus, I have to feed my puppy. Should puppy videos be a Patron reward?
I invite you into more peace, presence and joy in the journey.
