Created by Sydney and Barry Williams of Hiking My Feelings, Williams in the Wild documents their adventures while touring around the United States in Ruby, their 1998 Chevy van. The #HikingMyFeelingsTour is comprised of three main elements: Sydney's speaking tour with REI, weekly group hikes, and Sydney + Barry's adventures.

SPEAKING TOUR
On tour, Sydney pops into local REI stores and shares the story of how two hikes across Catalina Island helped her heal her mind and body. Her goal in sharing her story is to give the audience a new perspective for their lives and to give survivors of any kind of trauma the motivation and inspiration they need to turn their pain into power.

GROUP HIKES
To continue the conversation and put the takeaways of Sydney's story into practical action, we take it to the trail. For us, hiking is a moving meditation - an exercise that doesn't feel like exercise - and helps us reconnect with ourselves, our communities, and the planet at large. All of the emotional and physical healing Sydney has found has largely been facilitated through mindful movement in the outdoors and journaling about the emotions and memories that come up for her through (sometimes intense) physical activity. We invite anyone and everyone who may be interested (or already familiar with) the healing power of spending time outside to join us.

ADVENTURES
We are very lucky in that hiking, paddleboarding, and adventuring, in general, is something we both love and enjoy, especially when we can do it together. Between tour stops, we pop in and out of National Parks and other public lands to refresh and reconnect with each other. Whether that's boondocking for days and doing nothing but watching the local wildlife move through the land, finding remote hikes to find peace and solitude on-trail, or visiting some of the more popular destinations - we are excited to bring you along for some of the journeys and showcase how beautiful this country truly is.

WHERE YOUR DOLLARS GO
The Hiking My Feelings Tour is possible because of people like you. We don't currently have any sponsors or any outside financial support. The wheels keep turning on the van because of your support here as a Patron, purchasing items from our gear storebuying prints from our adventures, or good old fashioned donations. Here's a handy table for how your contribution impacts the tour in real life:

Williams in the Wild is your backstage pass to this entire journey: the inner workings of a speaking tour, what it's like to live in a van full-time, and all of our adventures along the way.
