Historic Florissant, Inc. has established one of the finest collections of archival materials from the Florissant Valley and the other nearby communities in North St. Louis County. The matrials have been collected over the last 40 years by Rosemary Davison and many other members of the organization. The archive includes photographs, reference books, documents and family histories.
When you contact or visit us you can get help from members of HFI. They are incredibly knowledgeable of Florissant and North County history. HFI typically does not charge for their services unless members spend a number of hours conducting reserach and donations offered are always appreciated.  HFI has several books for sale including books authored by Rosemary Davison and Gretchen Crank, the two past of the organization.
The photos and printed matter are available for a nominal cost and are available in electronic formats which can be sent by email anywhere in the world.
HFI has a Facebook page where we post news and announcements as well as historical photos and stories. The page has over 1,400 followers.
HFI hosts a house tour in the fall on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We find volunteers to decorate their homes for Christmas and invite 300 to 400 visitors inside. They serve light refreshments at each home as well.
We are hoping to find patrons to support the work and history being maintained by the organization, this, along with donations are our only source of income. If we can raise more than the minimum needed to maintain the organizations costs for the house and office materials we can continue to expand the electronic capabilities such as scanning of the materials or creating an on line site to view the materials.
Goals
$39 of $700 per month
Monthly need to cover expenses of maintaining the Gittemeier house, utilities, insurance, taxes, etc.  No money goes to staff because everyone is a volunteer.
