From Sam Willis, the presenter of the BBC’s The Silk Road and Invasion! working with James Daybell, one of the country’s leading professors of history comes a new way to think about the past…

Histories of the Unexpected is a show which explains how EVERYTHING has a history, even the most unexpected of subjects, and that everything links together in unexpected ways. Who knew that the history of the smile is all about the French Revolution? That the history of the watch is all about the Titanic? That the history of gloves is all about Mary Queen of Scots?

We're on a mission to fundamentally change the way people think about the past. And we need your help to keep the mics on...

Each podcast episode takes time to prepare and record, equipment and editing services to produce and we need to cover the costs - to help us carry on. Please please help, even if it is just a couple of dollars a month, and we'll turn 100 episodes into 1000 and get everyone involved the way that we want to...With your help we can get community groups and schools involved and engage everyone from 8 to 108.

Many thanks,
James and Sam
