Ever stroll down the aisle of the library, glance at the great books on the shelves, and wish you had the time to read them? So many other things demand our time. Now you can sample large excerpts of these books. We select a book, then we select a part of that book and then break down that part into easy bite-sized chunks which we serve up once a day. Hit the Our Authors page to see what we’ve done so far.

Ever wish you could keep up on the latest developments in the field of history? We sample what’s happening.

Ever see a good history blog but it has grown so big that the content is all but inaccessible? While this is one of those big content blogs with over 600 posts so far,  History Moments organizes content to the nth. degree, making full use of links, categories, and tags to allow readers to get to the topics that they want to see.

Then there’s the writing that is original to right here. Original thinking presented with good writing that adds to the field - that's our goal.

Why Donate your $$ Here?

Because this blog aspires to be the very best damn history blog, period.

  • It is not stuffy.
  • It is fun to read.
  • It is accurate.
  • It is accessible, organization-wise:
    • To busy professionals
    • To students in school
    • To the casual browser
    • To anyone who wants a quick introduction to a subject

But this takes a ton of time and a lot of personal dedication to keep this project going. The critical need now is for this project to have a firm financial foundation so that it can continue.

The Very Best History Blog? Really?

There’s a lot of history blogs and they serve their purpose but I just don’t see any who provides the mix of old and new writing, the mix of light fare with the serious that this one does.

In addition, it operates on the very latest Wordpress Genesis engine. It presents even the most dense material from the greatest historians of all time in a typeface and layout that is easy on the eyes.

The Basic History Library

I’d love for you to have it. It is a list of free downloads of the best history books that are in the public domain. They make a great starter set for readers to build on.

Even if you cannot donate money to this project,  click here to sign up for our weekly updates and I will send you the library anyway. I want you to have it.

Final Thought

The level of ignorance of our shared past is alarming. I mean that not on just a societal level but also on a personal level, too. Studying history is so rewarding, people are really missing out. Be sure you check out the blog.  History Moments.
