To me, food is such a rich way to understand the past. Through food we can access the daily lives and beliefs of ordinary people, the construction of cultural/socio-economic/religious identities, scientific advancements in medicine, agriculture, and technology, and the increasingly globalised routes of trade. Everything that we eat today has a fascinating story behind it that connects us to people in the past and across the world!
