Hello!

I am creating classical commentaries.  There are two types of commentating that I'll be doing.  The first are text commentaries that will allow beginning or intermediate students of Greek and Latin toread an unsimplified text without needing to look at any dictionaries, grammars, or any material beyond what is available on the page I've provided.

The second kind of commentary are videos on various subjects.  Sometimes they'll be straightforward accompaniments to the text commentaries.  Sometimes they'll deal with the connections between various work or the secondary literature.

With your support, I will be able to create complete sets of commentaries for major Greek and Roman authors.  I intend to start with Martial Book 1, then move on to his one named book, de Spectaculis.  Where I go after that depends largely on what my audience wants me to do, but I've got an itch to do the last 6 books of the Aeneid (to complement Pharr's excellent annotated edition of the 1st six).  After the Aeneid, I think that Pindar's odes would be the next target.  I'd love your support, please see the video for more details as to how this all happens!

Thanks for reading!

I will personally translate, into any (English) metrical form of your choosing, any 50 line chunk of Classical text.  Want Plato rendered into rhyming couplets?  I'm at your disposal.  I can't guarantee that it will be good, but it might be funny.

I will produce a video commentating on any 50 line chunk of text you'd like to choose.

If I reach this level, I will be able to reduce the other work that I do so as to produce at least 5 short commentaries a week.  This will help me towards complete coverage of authors that specialise in shorter(er) works, esp.  epigrammatists, like Martial and Catullus.
