What's going on here?I have several creative hobbies that I really enjoy. I like to explore interesting concepts in my writing and podcasting, to document the world through my photography, and to have some fun with videos. I always release my works under a Creative Commons license because I want to help other artists out as much as I can.
As you can imagine, these hobbies take a lot of time and effort. In some cases, they require expensive equipment. The bottom line is that as much as I enjoy making these things, I don't want them to be a complete economic drain. And if enough people start contributing, I will be able to spend more time improving the quality of my creations.
Of course, I am very indecisive and often have trouble choosing what kind of project I will tackle next. Therefore, the rewards of the Patreon will allow you to vote on which kind of thing you like the best.
PodcastsBack in college my friend Ian Decker and I had a weekly video game news show called Eight Bit. Looking back, it was pretty bad. We used it as an opportunity to catch up with each other, so the only people the show appealed to were our own friends. The weekly cycle of having to find news stories that only half-interested me was also a huge drag.
After learning those lessons, I have switched gears. I now make episodes on The Extra Dimension in which we research a topic and discuss it in depth, and Second Opinion in which we make reviews.
I have really gotten into audio dramas, and a big goal of mine is to make one. Currently the plan is to base it on the adventures that my friends and I have in role-playing games. That is a long ways off though.
WritingMy blog currently has a lot of reviews, dream journals, and long posts about some of the traveling I do. I am pretty satisfied with how it is going so far, but I do want to branch out into other subjects like think pieces or guides. Someday I might even get the itch to do some fiction!
PhotographyI have always enjoyed taking pictures, but it wasn't until I got a DSLR that I went truly photo-crazy. Most of my photography so far has been of nature or landscapes, though I was hired to do a small wedding.
I post all of my public photography on Flickr. I am also open to commissions.
VideosThis is easily the area that I am the least experienced with. I do not have special equipment, not even a proper video editor. If I ever have time to play video games, you can expect live streams or highlight videos. I have also started getting into unboxing videos.
