I am a Molecular Biologist with particular interest in Geometry, Bioinformatics, Data Visualization and some other stuff that has pretty much nothing to do with Molecular Biology. I currently work on creating software related to:
  • Bioinformatics 
  • General purpose libraries for data visualization written in Javascript
  • Websites related to video games

I love enhancing research and making it more accessible for other people and researchers via interactive data visualizations. Through my career I have realized that people tend to spend more time with visually engaging, aesthetic and yet functional tools and make better use of the underlying data.

Several tools I work on are completely open source and are published in peer reviewed journals:
  • I-PV: Aims to visualize and analyze protein sequence information. Useful for understanding how mutations are distributed throughout the sequence. 
  • MUTAFRAME: A single page web app for mutation effect prediction. It uses a custom visualization library called LEXICON to communicate large data sets.
I also do other miscellaneous content:
  • GWENSPECTOR: A website showcasing collection of Gwent cards from Witcher 3. Features a library I have written to 'fish eye' zoom on html elements.

Goals

  • More content on Gwentspector
  • More libraries for visualization on Github that are thoroughly documented. 
  • Automating I-PV to generate a default layout rather than needing the user input.
  • Setting a dedicated server for hosting all I-PV visualizations regarding all the canonical isoforms encoded by the human genome.
  • Renewal of the main website for a more modern and user friendly look.
  • Re-writing certain parts of the software for increased browser compatibility and rendering performance.
