We've been working hard on bringing our ideas for a great Virtual Tabletop experience to enthusiasts everywhere.

It involves 2 different applications: One that is free and another that's uses the best-suited technologies available today. We chose this approach to best offer feature-rich software that can cater to each type of tabletop enthusiast, without locking features out behind a paywall, or employing a "freemium" model.

These applications will be assisted by our upcoming online service platform, called Sandstorm, which is currently in development.

Beyond hosting the usual marketplace or stores, and forums where people can congregate, Sandstorm will provide crucial connectivity services to help users and gaming groups from around the world, meet up and play, simply by clicking on "Connect".

This is probably the biggest reason why Roll20 is such a success. Most people prefer to avoid the hassles of maintaining an application on their devices, even if it means they don't actually have any software they can use, much less one that is usable, even when there is no Internet around.

Mote, our free VTT application, is already available to the public. You can get it by visiting our website. It's a one-file application that acts as both installer and launcher. It even maintains its own Java installation! We are committed to making it the best free VTT option for everyone to enjoy.

Sift, is our commercial Virtual Tabletop project. It is also is under development, and it will simply offer the best value for money among all competing VTT options in the market. You can view our early development videos on YouTube.

Along with these major projects, we are also working on several tools on the side, to enhance the creation process each gaming group goes through. Tools like editors to create characters and tile sets en masse, a standalone app to test HTML5 forms and Javascript macros against Sift's scripting engine.

We created this Patreon page to field requests to improve Mote. We implement most feature requests for free, but over time, there have been requests that fall outside the scope of what we want to do with Mote.

Rather than reject such requests outright, we thought it best if we at least give our users a chance to voice their support for a feature, while at the same time, help us out in these early stages of product development.

Unfortunately, we don't list every out-of-scope request; there simply are some things that are better done on a more modern platform like Sift, or just plain not feasible.

So, if you like what we are trying to achieve with our ideas, and want to help bring us to our goals sooner, please consider supporting our work here at Patreon. Every bit helps!

HTML support in Mote is limited to version 3.2. This is a limitation of the Java toolkit used to make the user interface (i.e. Swing). This cannot be changed.

However, some dynamism and responsiveness can be figured in, to make things easier, and expand forms in Mote can do.

Long-time users already know this but, currently, there is a rather convoluted process involved in updating a window. Users have to submit the form, catch its data, process this data, recreate the window html, and display it anew.

This bounty will prioritize the addition of dynamic behavior into the form  system. It's not the same as having actual scripts on-document (like webpages do) taking care of form events, but it will certainly be a lot better than what we have now.
