As traditional media continues to collapse, the need to build new space for quality, local arts coverage grows. Welcome to I Don’t Get It, our answer to providing a fun and interesting forum for discussion about performance in your community.

I Don’t Get It came to be when Paul— who was the arts editor at Vue Weekly—realized that after five years of assigning stories to Fawnda—Vue's go-to dance writer—that he had little experience actually seeing and/or talking about dance.

As Edmonton’s contemporary dance scene kept expanding and paper-space kept shrinking, the two decided to create a platform where they could banter and argue to their hearts’ content about their respective love/indifferent relationship to one of the most misunderstood forms of art. Irreverence and irritating sound effects soon ensued.

Since 2013, IDGI has expanded beyond dance to cover everything performance-based in Edmonton and beyond. If you’re like us, and recognize the need for informed and lively discussion about art, I Don’t Get it is your show.

Help us foster critical thinking about what audiences get to see. Become a Patron today.
