About
I'm a scientist, a skeptic, and an advocate for critical thinking and evidence-based inquiry. That means I'm going to tell it to you straight - what we know and don't know about ghosts, monsters, miracles and mysteries of the world. I'm versed in topics including alternative medical claims, psychics, belief, memory, natural phenomena, zoology, and the environment. I have a degree in Geology, a love for all branches of science and a Masters in education focusing specifically on science and the public.
I want to speak to the population on the fence about vaccinations, ghosts, UFOs, global warming and a whole host of unexplained experiences. I can help cut through the bunk and promote understanding of complicated and sometimes highly emotional topics.
Help me be that skeptic at large across the world by supporting my work monthly.

There must be a voice to counter the nonsense.
People believe and act upon all sorts of questionable claims and strange ideas. My passion is helping people think more clearly about how the world works and how to make sense of weird or confusing things.
I love the paranormal, monsters, mysteries and anomalies, but the media portrays these topics credulously and shallowly. Having studied how to spot fake science and bogus claims for over 20 years as part of the skeptical community, I want the public to hear how much more is going on here!
I do research, writing, speaking and general science/skeptical advocacy regarding all kinds of questionable claims. It's not my main job, which is a geologist, but it takes many hours per day to find content for my websites, to research claims in the news, and to package this content for the public. I comment in public on everything from alternative medical treatments to modern-day witch accusations. I dig up the latest news on UFO sightings, mystery creatures, and pseudoscience hype. I make sure you hear what's missing or what's mistaken in the sensational news stories that travel around the world everyday.
Here are some examples of effective ways to get the science-based point of view out there:
