Hello, my name is...
Victoria, but most people on the interstellar interwebz know me as iesnoth. I'm a ginger, a lover of cartoons and superheroes and mythology, and a Christian. Though I'm interested in making Bible-based comics in the future, my faith will not take precedence in my current project, except that the content will be PG-13 (for war images and mature themes). Only good, clean feels here, folks!
I've been a long time content creator on deviantart, but signing up with Patreon is a manifestation of me finally taking my art seriously as a career path, not just as a passion.
I recently switched from full time to part time at my day job with the intention of garnering commissions and freelance jobs to supplement the lost income as well as building a name for myself in the art community. However, I also feel a pull toward my first love: cartooning.

So what is this comic you're so hyped up about?
My as-of-yet unnamed comic is loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. It's about a Stellanatan (space mermaid) warrior with PTSD who is banished from her caravan and meets a human astronaut. The story follows her journey as she falls deals with prejudice, falls in love, and grapples with questions of nature versus nurture, the price of peace, and unconditional love. I can't say much else without giving away spoilers, but if you like space, mermaids, and inter-spacial love, you'll like this comic.

What is Patreon, and why is it important?
Patreon is a long-term crowd funding website. Another Patreon user described it as a magazine subscription: you pay so much per period of time for a prescribed amount of benefits (found in the rewards section below). The webcomic itself will still be free, but patrons will receive bonuses such as wallpapers, works-in-progress, advanced peeks at the next page, commissions, etc. Again, the amount of bonuses depend on the "subscription."
Patreon is important to artists such as myself because we want to create free content. Artists who garner an income through sites like these can put their comics online for people to read anytime, anywhere, for free. Without this site, artists would have to charge for access to their stories, if they even have the time to make comics with the day job they have to hold in order to pay bills.
Through Patreon, everyone is happy: the artist gets paid for creating stories they love, the webcomics and art are still free, and patrons not only receive bonuses, but become an integral part of the creative process.

Sounds great, how do I become a patron?
It's easy! Just click the big, orange "Become a Patron" link on my main page. Then you enter the amount you want to pay per page of comic, and click on the appropriate rewards bubble. Then, set a monthly maximum so that, even if I go on an uploading spree, you don't go over your budget. Confirm, and sit back and rake in the artworks. If, at any time, you can't afford to be a patron or just don't want to do it anymore, you can cancel, and I won't even sic my squad of assassins on you.

Thank you all for your encouragement and support up until now, and I hope you decide to go on this new journey with me.

Goals
$0 of $100 per Page
I won't have to take on nearly as much freelance work if I'm earning $100 per page, which means more time for comics!
