Who are you?

Thank you for visiting my Patreon-page! My name is Rick and as Ikarago I create and contribute on various (open) source apps and projects. You might know me for my work on the Unigram and FLUI Framework projects. My big passion is creating fun little experiences and this Patreon campaign helps me to cover my living expenses so I can keep doing so.

A little background

Four years ago I was browsing though the store, looking for a quick and easy way to write a small notes and later for a simple text-to-speech app. To my surprise, none of the available apps seemed to present these in a user-friendly way a typical user would expect.

So with the little skills I had started designing and experimenting. After weeks of blood, sweat and tears (mostly sweat and tea though), my first app was finally here; I called it Snips, referring to the little snips of information one would save in there, and released it for free on the store. The first feedback for it came in and really motivated me to continue improving the app and eventually create a second app; the Talkinator.

After a hiatus I started work on Notepad, a modern take on the classic Notepad app by Microsoft. Later I have worked on a specialized app to help Avina Education with their work which I've open sourced together with Talkinator and Notepad.

My latest project is FLUI Framework, which originated from a desire to bring standardization to Microsofts Fluent Design by providing easy to use styles in UWP apps for other developers. This resulted in a Nuget Package that only requires a few lines of code for a developer to use all these modern looking styles in their own apps. Of course, this project is fully open source as well.

So, what's in it for me?

Next to bragging rights to help make dreams come true you can expect continued updates to apps under the Ikarago name. Developing and maintaining apps cost a lot of time and effort and by supporting me you can help me cover my living expenses so I can keep doing this without having to resort to other monetization options (like ads or paid apps).

The source code of various of my apps and projects have been open sourced on GitHub, so you can look at the code, download it, learn from it and even fork it to help development of your own apps.

You've all been incredible with your support and suggestions so far and I would love to continue creating and maintaining these awesome experiences for you. Your support is much valued and required to bring the best experiences to more people.

I only want to do a small donation!

Awesome! All the help is welcome, so if you would like to donate once instead of monthly you can buy me a  Ko-Fi. :)

How can I contact you?

If you have any questions, please let me know here on Patreon, Twitter or mail via [email protected]. Until then, happy computing! :)
