OH!! A STREAM, HUH... PRETTY NICE.
i'll do a ~WEEKLY~ stream of a game of my choosing! sometimes i'll bring a friend along. let's learn about video games together
MORE STREAM'S
two streams a week... is this possible??? I'M WILLING TO TRY IT, FOR A PRICE.
OH! THAT'S MY BILLS.
this is a boring goal but HEY this covers most of my monthly expenses! rent and bills and stuff. that means i don't have to worry so much about getting retail hours, which means More Time To Make Stuff
I'M GAME. MY LIFE IS GAME. I LIVE FOR GAME
this is just about equal to working full-time at minimum wage, which means i'm doing it for a living! i can start churnin' out the video games at a breakneck pace. will the dream... become a reality??

hello! i'm drak!! you may know me from twitter (@fancydrak) or tumblr (drakdraws/hatchlinghero). i like to make the video game.
"hi drak. tell me... why do you need my dollars"
WELL! making the video game takes a lot of time, and i am yet a Fresh Video Games Baby. i work on my own and have much to learn! on top of that my living situation is seated deep within the Chaos Zone right now. i moved halfway across the country in october, and am looking to move across the other half within a few months. my time lately has been dominated by the way past cool adult activity of Working Retail To Earn Currency. i'd really like to be able to put more time and focus on making games and sharing the process with people... but i gotta make money!!! so i'm hoping that with a lil support, it'll become easier to turn this Hobby... into a Jobby.
"ok drak that sounds cool man but look what are you even working on"

STREAMS??? I primarily do gamedev stuff, but since starting this Patreon I've also really enjoyed doing the occasional bit of video content! Sometimes it's just me playin' a thing, other times I have friends along. I wanna work on nailing down a more frequent, concrete streaming schedule!
Item Haver is a lighthearted exploration platformer set in a world where wishes are granted as an almost daily occurrence. You play as a lil friend named Item Haver who is tasked with traveling the world and collecting all its treasures. There are 60 enchanted treasures to collect and equip, which can be mixed and matched to create fun and interesting mobility combos. There's a whole bunch of characters to meet, dungeons to delve, and monsters to fight! This is my current main project.
Bubsy Fangame. This was previously a Patreon goal, but I don't think it actually makes a very good goal!! so, I got rid of it. I'm still working on this in the background though! Hitting the goal once was all you needed to do in order to bring this cursed project into the world. There's no stopping it now.
It's still in the planning stages. I love Bubsy. It'll be good.
wreckboy is a virtual pet based on the box art for the NES game Wrecking Crew. the player is entrusted with the care of a small wreckboy, and you must do your best to keep him healthy and happy for the rest of his eternal days. it started out as a very simple "haha what if i" kind of idea, and quickly snowballed into something resembling an actual relatively polished game! weird.
it's done, and playable free in a browser at wreckboy.com.
Hatchling Hero (ON HIATUS) is a cute SNES-era inspired platformer with hi def hand drawn graphics. you play as an egg with the power to absorb and mix different elements in order to hatch into exciting forms! it's a pretty large-scale project, and one i'm planning to work on over a long period of time. due to the scale, i've been picking away at it very slowly in my free time while working on smaller scale stuff on the side in order to learn new things and keep people interested in what i'm making. you can find out more about it here! IT'S ON HIATUS RIGHT NOW THOUGH
"alright drak... but what's in it for me, the beloved potential patron"
i've been providing small glimpses of the design process on my twitter (mostly in the form of animated gifs of things going Horribly Wrong during development) but i'd like to open that up and share more on patreon! patrons will get access to a nice gallery of gifs as well as other Delicious Development Scraps like early graphics, stuff i don't end up using, design document musings, and stuff that i Don't Really Wanna Spoil On Twitter But I Guess If You're Supporting Me I Can Spill A Bean Or Two.
that ended up being a lot of title caps.
"hey also why is this thing monthly. why not per-project"
considering the unpredictable not-really-on-a-schedule nature of my workflow, i feel more comfortable charging per month. some projects are less easy to say "ok now it's done" with than others, as well! for instance, if for some reason wreckboy turned out to be a breakout hit and i kept updating that instead of working on something new immediately, it'd be ages before the next Currency Injection. also it makes it easier for patrons to keep track of when they're going to be charged, i feel like?? i dunno. i'm new to this!! you can think of the monthly charge as a subscription to all the "backroom access" stuff, if that makes more sense!
thanks so much for checkin' me out!! if you like what i make, please consider sliding a coin or two my way and spreading the word (〃´ w` )
