I'm Immy, an interdisciplinary artist with a background in bioscience. I make art inspired by creature camouflage & natural patterns. I also make rule-based patterns & generative art.

I'm a full time artist, making a living through sciart...
It can be tricky to make a living from art. That's where you can help. Patreon allows you to support me directly via small monthly payments, so I can make more art for you to enjoy, and you can get that art back as rewards, including;
- Monthly updates with artwork, videos, & how-to content
- A patron's blog with daily studio peeks and artwork
- Exclusive views of artwork on playing card & print projects
- Print & original commission rewards at higher tiers
Here are some of the projects my Patrons support and get to see first, with exclusive behind-the-scenes access & studio updates...
Next playing card deck; Insecta
I'm currently working on my next playing card project the Insecta Deck, creating a deck of poker cards where insect taxonomic families become the suits. I can't wait to bring more imaginary insects to life! At $5 & above, patrons will get exclusive previews & news on this project. My previous deck was called 'Cryptic Cards'.

I'm currently part-way through a long-term project to create an illuminated alphabet featuring cryptic creatures and plants. Patrons get to see studio WIP, full length video with commentary, and finished artwork before anyone else. Here's a short timelapse of letter S...
Morse code & generative drawing
I'm using Morse code as a set of drawing rules, turning words into generative art & sometimes combining this with other drawing rule sets. My generative drawing is a way to find & explore new patterns, & using Morse code is a way for me to express difficult ideas as visual art, in a way that doesn't necessarily need translation but can just be enjoyed as is.
[Image description; a collage of patterns made using morse code as a set of drawing rules. Each pattern consists of ink dots and dashes wrapping around circles, voids, or drawings of small objects. The coding dots and dashes are interspersed with spacing dots in a lighter colour.]
Video content; you'll be the first to see my content and also get exclusive access to full length drawing videos. When my first Patreon goal is reached, I'll start making videos exclsuively for patrons every month.

Collaborative art; I also share collaborative artwork with my patrons. I love to work with other artists and share ideas, materials, and inspirations. Recent collaborations include 'Emergent Crypsis' with generative artist Anders Hoff, and 'exquisite corpse' collaborations with Luca Rossi & Domenica Di Francia.

Exclusive digital art; patrons get digital prints and posters of some of my artwork included in updates at $5+. Patrons just got digital prints of beetle drawings made exclusively for patrons!

Print packs; $25 tier+ patrons get a big print pack twice a year, including limited edition prints, postcards, stickers, and seasonal greetings cards. Below are some of the things that went into my latest collector's print pack...

Being part of the disabled community makes me aware of some of the accessibility limitations of my work. I'm using image descriptions in all my Patreon posts, and as this Patreon progresses, I'd like to invest more time into making both new & existing visual/video media more accessible. That includes ensuring all new video content has subtitles as well as sound, adding subtitles to existing video, finding ways to add image description to more of my online content, & investigating new print formats.
I'm viewing this Patreon as a long term project, so I'll be adapting content and adding new projects as they happen, and listening to feedback from patrons. Stay tuned!
