Thanks for all your support! You rock! And to thank you for that, you get a shout out on social media AND at the end of the podcast that you helped me achieve! If I have released the season already, listen to the upcoming podcast's intro episode. Don't worry, I will remind you.
I would like to thank our fans and patrons for helping us to bring our passion project to life. When we had the idea to create this project we were wishing there was a single place for us to go and see information (bad and good) about movies featuring Native Americans, past, present and future, and watch them all. When we realized how much was out there we were so overwhelmed. I asked myself what about books? Art?
BUT THEN would if we could take it all a step further. Not only have a page for each media type but also let people know more about indigenous representation in the public eye and why it is so important. As it turns out, every single issue that we deal with in the world as indigenous people is deeply intertwined in this thing we call "The Media."
So how do we make this happen? First, we build the website. We start adding sections slowly for as long as it takes to make sure there is a comprehensive resource for each media. Secondly, we create a blog to talk about what is going on in real time. Finally, we do a podcast so that we can bring in voices of experts on all of these topics while filling people in on our own personal experiences of being native and native allies while discussing the complexities behind each form of media and the issues we face in Indian Country in this day and age.
