We are aiming to build a resource highlighting the brilliant work that Independent Bookshops do, the hard graft that goes into these shops, the love and dedication.

Each Independent Bookshop is different and they shine a light on lots of different styles of writing and books, from lovely cosy children’s bookshops to radical bookshops that challenge the status quo and get targeted by the far right for their efforts.

We will also be looking at Independent Publishers and the work they do to keep new and challenging writing flowing.

One of the things we really want to do is visit as many of these shops and publishers as possible and get their thoughts on the current state of books and writing and why they sell and/or produce books.

So keep an eye out for us on our travels.

We also review books on www.justonebook.co.uk and hope to get at least two books a week reviewed. There are no forbidden genres, there will be fiction and non-fiction, children's, adults, basically if it has words in it we will review it (look out for our extra-special review of the Weetabix packet).

Another of our projects is www.bookbuddy.org.uk which is an organisation set up to facilitate book reviewers, publishers, authors, in fact anyone who has extra suitable children's books to donate them to a school library. We run the day-to-day technical and social media side of the project.

As you may notice we do like to stay busy, very busy, oh so busy and to do that we need time, which any donations helps buy back from our employer.

Thank you for helping fund me in my journey to develop great resources for all.

If all my social media followers supported me at this tier I could work on this project full-time.

Goals
$0 of $800 per month
If I earned $800 from Patreon I could cut the hours I work with my main employer to spend more time working on this project.

It would also give me the opportunity to travel and visit more distant bookshops to write about them from firsthand experience.
