Welcome to my Patreon! Ink Feather Books is a book brand revolving around a SFF author interview-style podcast, which is published every other week, as well as book-themed merchandise (like bookmarks, journals, autographed author prints, etc.).

Who am  I? Hi, I'm Lauren! I've been reviewing fantasy and sci-fi books, and interviewing their authors, for over a decade now. In late 2017 I decided to take my informal audio interviews with these authors and officially turn them into a podcast! I love this side project, and it's become an integral part of my life as a professional creative (my main gig is as a fantasy fine art photographer).

Some of the authors I've interviewed  for the podcast include:
-Leigh Bardugo
-Christopher Paolini
-Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
-Laurell K. Hamilton
-Seanan McGuire
-Susan Dennard
-Roshani Chokshi
-Samantha Shannon
-Brigid Kemmerer
-S. A. Chakraborty
... and more!

This project really fulfills me, and I love being able to pick the brains of these amazing writers,  both best-selling and debut, and hear about how they bring these stories we love to life. It's a delight being able to deliver this to fans of reading and writing alike. But for me to keep it going for the long term, I'm going to need support from the community.

Here's the deal: I realized the amount of time needed to create this content consistently and with quality takes more than I anticipated. I did the math, and each episode costs me bare minimum $400, but oftentimes more. This includes coordinating with authors and publicity teams at their respective publishers, interview prep, recording and editing the episode, and then promoting, including photographing promo pics, social media, giveaways, etc. I would like to get my time covered for this podcast, so I can keep bringing great author content to fantasy and scifi book fans! I launch a new episode ever other week, so this time quickly adds up!

And, it's even more when I count the amount of time I put into making all my various bookish merch that goes along with the book brand I'm cultivating. My dream with these is to simply make a living wage rate based on how much time I put in to help cover my time, as well as any extra costs of creating merch to promote with the podcast. Long-term goals would be to have enough to hire an editor and some help with social media to bring the podcast to even more SFF book fans around the world! The ultimate goal is to have this be a community-funded media project about books, writing, fantasy, scifi, and publishing, having all costs covered.

Thanks for supporting me!
