About

Hi! I'm Isaac and I'm writing an operating system in Rust called Pebble, which you can find here on Github. This project is meant to explore how Rust is suited to operating system development and to develop the Rust ecosystem, as well as to create a proof-of-concept message-passing microkernel in Rust.

I also develop some crates that form part of the larger Rust OS-development ecosystem:
  • The acpi and aml crates in the rust-osdev organization. ACPI is a low-level protocol for an operating system to learn about and configure hardware and is used across x86, ARM, and other platforms.
  • mer is an ergonomic, zero-copy ELF parser that's designed for use in kernels and bootloaders, and so is easier to use in these environments than similar libraries (in my opinion).
