I am fascinated by the inherently wild qualities of human beings and the tension that occurs between this wildness and the self-domestication imposed by the urban landscape and modern cultural norms. Children are trained never to take their shoes off, to be careful, not to climb trees. As they grow up they stop trying to climb, explore and play. I’m interested in the use of the body both visually and physically as a spatial intervention. I create works and spaces that bring attention to the use of the body in space and challenge people to think differently about their relationship with the world.
