OUR STORY

"Island Girls" started out at first as an idea for several short stories that would take place in the South Seas at various historical moments throughout the 1920s and 1940s. But when we realized we were missing the graphic feel, it just made sense to turn our short stories into full-color comics. So that's what we've started to do now. Each story arc has already been written and scripted out. The main task now is to visually represent them, not just in full color but in fabulous imagery that will take readers back into time to when the South Seas were just beginning to mature and accept Western civilization.

"Island Girls" depicts the traditions, cultures and peoples of the South Seas island of Bora Bora in 1940 . The island is still a little primitive and wild at this point, but there's a huge military presence soon to come and disrupt the scenic tranquility - and with it numerous dangers and adventures.

"Island Girls" stars beautiful South Pacific natives Leilani, Kalea, Malana, and Huana. Along with their other companion, French naval researcher Marie-Claire, and their friends, these barely-19 and barely-dressed girls take on mysteries and adventures within the islands, whether they are below the deep blue sea, or within the sultry, hot jungles, battling foes or their emotions, whether facing love or danger.

We think you'll agree the visual efforts will rival some of the best comics published today.

RALPH DEL MUNDO
Lead artist, storyboard, layout
Ralph's work has been seen lately in the television series "Fargo", and he's had a number of credits through the years. "Island Girls" is his second major comic project after his success with "Rock n' Roll Diesel Zombies", now awaiting a movie production. Plus, he's a really awesome tattoo artist these days.

An avid comic book fan, Paul left an animation writing career to pursue his first love. He has written or co-written numerous published short stories, articles and books, and brings his professional screenwriting background to create dialogue. His writing has been featured in Forbes, Newsweek, Huffpost and Livestrong, to name a few.

Paula also had an early love for comics, and in fact wrote her college thesis on comic censorship. A veteran writer (and once a zombie for George Romero's "Dawn of the Dead"), she has written award-winning fiction over the years, and is a co-author of seven books, two novels, and now three successful webcomics.

WHAT ARE THE PERKS?
